Daytona Beach Campus

The Daytona Beach Campus – the largest of DSC’s seven campuses – is located in a vacation destination city that attracts more than 10 million visitors annually from around the world. With miles of warm water beaches and the Intracoastal Waterway, Daytona and the surrounding region are a haven for surfing, paddleboarding, boating, kayaking, deep sea and freshwater fishing, snorkeling and SCUBA diving. It is also a motorsports mecca, home to NASCAR’s Daytona 500, the Rolex 24 and Bike Week, which draws hundreds of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to city-wide events every Spring and Fall.

The campus, with a student population of 22,000, offers a range of academic programs, including baccalaureate, associate of arts (university transfer degree), associate of science, adult education and certificate programs. Students have access to tutoring and academic support specialists in areas such the library, Academic Support Center and the Writing Center.

In addition to hosting the college’s primary administrative offices, the campus is also home to the Southeast Museum of Photography, the Mori Hosseini College of Hospitality and Culinary Management, Falcon Athletics NJCAA Division I teams, a fitness center and indoor pool, the student-run television station WDSC-15, the L. Gale Lemerand Student Center, and the newly opened Residence Hall.

 

Advanced Technology College Campus

The Advanced Technology College offers a wide variety of engineering, computer science, advanced manufacturing, automotive, electrical apprenticeship, heating and air conditioning, construction, emergency medical services, paramedic training and criminal justice programs. Each year 2,200 students use this state-of-the-art facility which includes program-specific classrooms and laboratories featuring industry-designed equipment with the latest technology. The two-story classroom area surrounds an enclosed atrium that is the site of numerous exhibits and events. The facility is located five miles from the Daytona Beach Campus, where students enrolled in courses at the ATC can access the full range of student enrollment and development services.

 

DeLand Campus

The DeLand Campus offers a full-service library and Learning Resources Center, classroom space for college-credit courses that meet the general education requirements for the associate of arts degree, one associate of science degree and other associate of science courses, and various certificate programs. The Bert Fish Building houses up-to-date facilities for dental hygiene, nursing, science labs and a multimedia learning center. As on all the campuses, comprehensive student and academic support services include Student Disability Services, the Falcon Hope Center, career advisement, individual tutoring and a computerized learning/tutoring center, as well as a foreign language lab. Approximately 1,400 students attend classes at the DeLand Campus each year.

 

Deltona Campus

The Deltona Campus offers access to quality postsecondary education and advanced training in a rapidly growing area of western Volusia County. The 100-acre site features a 42,000-square-foot facility that houses classrooms, computer labs and administrative offices.

Daytona State recently broke ground on Building Two, a new multi-disciplinary classroom and laboratory building that will be home to the college’s nursing, sonography and high-tech CNC Machining programs, supporting up to 120 nursing students, up to 40 CNC training students and up to 100 students in a new diagnostic sonography program.

The regional campus helps meet the local demand for academic programs such as the associate of arts and nursing degrees, career certificates in cosmetology and adult education classes. More than 836 students a year attend the Deltona Campus.

 

Flagler/Palm Coast Campus

The Flagler/Palm Coast Campus is among Daytona State’s fastest-growing regional campuses. The campus offers college credit, college preparatory and the full two-year Associate Degree Nursing program. All general education requirements for the associate of arts degree can be completed here as well as some associate of science programs such as business administration, which includes three certificates. Facilities include a nursing laboratory, two science laboratories, an Academic Support Center, writing center, two computer laboratories, an amphitheater and modern classrooms. Nearly 3,000 students attended this campus last year, and the numbers are projected to continue to rise. To accommodate this growth, the campus has expanded with a new high-tech, 24,000 square-foot facility to meet student needs through the next decade.

 

New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater Campus

The New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater Campus offers college credit, college preparatory, adult basic education, and general education development courses. All general education requirements for the associate of arts degree and many requirements for associate of science degree programs may be completed there. The campus has opened a new Workforce Training Lab designed for entry level training in a range of skills for high-demand industries, plus expanded its health occupations, science, computer, public service and occupational programs. It has two science laboratories, a learning center and modern classrooms. Nearly 2,000 students a year choose to call the New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater Campus their home campus.

 

News-Journal Center

A short two miles from the Daytona Beach Campus is the News-Journal Center, Daytona State’s performing arts venue and home to its popular music production technology program. This two-theater venue features the most cutting-edge technology available. Its recording and sound studios were designed and built by working industry professionals dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to develop their skills using industry standard digital and analog audio production equipment. The News-Journal Center features two live performance theaters linked through a fiber-optic network to a studio control room that allows for multi-track audio recording of live performances; rehearsal rooms, isolation rooms and two production studios. The facility also is home to some of the area’s finest cultural productions, including top-quality musical and theatrical performances by our own students.
