RED4844 Reading Practicum

The purpose of this course is to provide a supervised practicum on the application of reading instruction. Pre-service teachers work in a school site with students who are experiencing reading problems, including Exceptional Student Education students and English Language Learners. Pre-service teachers review current reading research literature and select, plan, and use appropriate reading assessments, materials, and strategies to identify needs and provide remedial reading instruction in a K-12 classroom. Field service in a public school required. This course may be offered in the FA or SP term.
