HIM2400 Health Records in Alternate Settings

The student will explore a variety of medical settings that require coding and billing. This includes hospice, physician’s offices, emergency departments, clinicals, nursing homes, and more. This course will allow the student to continue improving their quality and accuracy in code selection based on the official guidelines for coding and reporting, along with other official coding references. By comparing the differences and similarities of medical coding at these varied sites, the student will gain a better idea of where they may find employment after graduation. Students must complete this course with a grade of "C" or higher.
