ETC4241 Construction Materials and Methods

This course covers construction principles, materials, methods, and details used in the construction of buildings and other facilities. Major topics include load calculations, building codes, major structural systems, construction materials wood, steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and their applications. Course includes soil properties, foundation systems, excavation, earthmoving operation calculations, and topics on sustainability. Lab activities include building codes, construction materials and properties, construction failures, and other related topics.
