TSL3080 ESOL Issues and Strategies I

The purpose of this course is to develop the foundation of knowledge necessary for educators to teach English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The course explores strategies that support English Language Learners (ELLs), educational statutes and rules governing the identification, instruction, and progress monitoring of ELLs, plus the components of language and apply this knowledge to support ELLs’ acquisition of English. This course requires clinical experience hours observing and working with K-12 ELLs in an approved public school.
