Student Life
Expand and enrich your college experience by getting involved with your campus and your community. The Student Life Department is the social hub of the college, where you can meet other students who share common interests. Grow your career skills and increase your scholarship opportunities by getting involved and serving in leadership roles across campus clubs and organizations.
Student Publications – Gain valuable career experience, or just find an outlet for your photography and literary works. Student Publications include InMotion Student Newspaper and Aeolus Literary Magazine. InMotion is an award-winning monthly newspaper that is produced entirely by students. Aeolus Literary Magazine is an annual literary magazine featuring student poems, short stories, essays and artwork. Participation offers meaningful opportunities to build portfolios, gain practical experience, and express your creativity. Many former writers, photographers and editors for these publications are now employed in various media organizations throughout the world.
Student Government Association (SGA) – The SGA is made up of elected officers and appointed members. SGA officers also organize various campus events and community service projects. The SGA represents the student interests to college leadership and state lawmakers. SGA officers contribute to important discussions on college policies, procedures, and long-term planning. In addition, SGA collaborates with student clubs and organizations to coordinate campus initiatives. Several SGA positions qualify for scholarship opportunities. If you are interested in serving on a position, or would like to learn more, please contact the Office of Student Life.
Intramurals and Recreational Sports – Intramural Sports enhances the student experience on the Daytona Beach Campus by providing organized, recreational opportunities for students to stay active and connect with peers. The program offers a variety of activities, including Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer, Pickleball, Gaming Tournaments, Table Tennis, and Foosball. Intramural sports activities are open to all students
Clubs and Organizations – Student clubs and organizations are open to all students enrolled in college credit courses. To learn more about existing clubs, including membership details and meeting times, you can contact the club advisor or the Office of Student Life. If you’re interested in starting a new club, the Office of Student Life is available to assist you with the process. There are many student clubs and organizations on campus to appeal to a wide variety of interests.
