Program Mission, Description, and Outcomes
Mission:
The program prepares students for employment in manufacturing and automation industries. This certificate is a part of the Engineering Technology AS degree program. The program prepares students for entering the manufacturing career cluster.
Description:
This certificate prepares students for Engineering Technology support positions dealing with operating and troubleshooting automation systems used in today’s manufacturing sector. Students learn and apply the principles of robotics and logic controls used in current manufacturing systems. This certificate is only available through the FAME program (with employer sponsorship).
Outcomes:
Graduates of the program will be able to:

Demonstrate a fundamental understanding, operation, and maintenance of industrial automation systems.

Troubleshoot industrial automation system.

Apply the principles of robotics to automated systems.

Create and operate human machine interfaces to control automated systems.

- Students must have been enrolled in the Engineering Technology, A.S. program and be a participant in the FAME cohort.
Additional Completion Requirements
- Some courses in this program have pre-requisite requirements. Students must have met or completed the course pre-requisite requirements to be awarded the certificate. The pre-requisite courses are part of the Associate of Science (AS) Engineering Technology program that should be completed for the embedded certificate.
