Financial Aid Services
Financial Aid is available to help eligible students meet educational expenses. This aid is provided through multiple sources, including federal and state governments, directly from the College, or through private sources and may consist of grants, scholarships, loans or work.
The Office of Financial Aid Services assists more than 12,000 students a year and distributes over $60 million through a variety of Federal, State and local programs in various grants, loans, scholarships and work, including Bright Futures and Veterans benefits.
Applying for financial aid is easier than ever.
The first step in applying for all forms of financial assistance is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). This form is available online, and the quickest way to apply is to visit the website www.studentaid.gov. Be sure to add Daytona State College’s federal school code on the application: 001475.
After completing the FAFSA® application, students will receive an electronic copy of their responses called a FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS). The school will also receive this information and determine if any additional information is needed.
Some of our students are required to submit additional documentation because they are selected for the federal verification process. If a student is selected, they can view the requested documents on their student portal. To access the portal, log on to Daytona State College home page and click on the MyDaytonaState link. Requested documents should be submitted as soon as possible. Most of the documents are electronic for the convenience of our students and parents, and do not require a student to come to campus.
The financial aid process can be lengthy; please allow Financial Aid Services about 2 to 3 weeks to process any paperwork submitted. When the process is complete, you will receive an email at your Daytona State email address on how to access your financial aid award on the MyDaytonaState portal. Late applicants will have their applications considered for an award on a rolling basis.
Financial Aid Services team members are available to assist students Monday through Friday in the Daytona Beach Campus office, as well as on the regional campuses.
