Program Overview
Mission:
The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in Supervision and Management - Project Management Concentration provides students access to a quality baccalaureate education aligned with workforce needs in project management. The program develops management skills, ethical decision-making, creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and lifelong learning to prepare graduates for leadership roles in project-based organizations.
Description:
The Project Management Concentration prepares graduates of associate degree programs for supervisory and project management positions across a variety of industries. The upper-division curriculum builds upon technical and occupational education by developing advanced knowledge and skills in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, communication, organizational leadership, and strategic decision-making.
2+2 Degree Completion Pathway: Students enter the program with an associate degree or transferable lower-division coursework and complete 60 upper-division credits to earn the Bachelor of Applied Science degree.
Outcomes:
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Demonstrate effective communication that integrates analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Apply management principles that reflect organizational behavior, diversity, and cultural awareness.
- Apply human resource management concepts consistent with organizational policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Integrate effective management and leadership principles to optimize organizational resources.
- Apply legal and ethical decision-making in management settings.
- Develop and implement effective customer relations strategies.
- Apply managerial accounting concepts to organizational decision-making.
- Integrate operational processes and information systems into management practices.
- Develop strategic plans that include organizational mission, measurable goals, objectives, and action plans.
- Apply teamwork, collaboration, and leadership practices in management environments.
- Manage projects from initiation through completion using critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Admission and Degree Requirements
Admission:
- Submit a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) application.
- Meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Hold a conferred Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Have completed at least 60 transferable college-level credits from a regionally accredited institution, including a minimum of 15 credits of general education coursework.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on all college coursework.
- Submit official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions. International transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Completion:
- Meet all lower-division prerequisite requirements for the selected concentration.
- Complete all required upper-division coursework for the selected concentration.
- Earn a grade of "C" or better in all program-specific and prerequisite courses.
