Program Overview

Mission:

The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in Supervision and Management - Project Management Concentration provides students access to a quality baccalaureate education aligned with workforce needs in project management. The program develops management skills, ethical decision-making, creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and lifelong learning to prepare graduates for leadership roles in project-based organizations.

Description:

The Project Management Concentration prepares graduates of associate degree programs for supervisory and project management positions across a variety of industries. The upper-division curriculum builds upon technical and occupational education by developing advanced knowledge and skills in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, communication, organizational leadership, and strategic decision-making.

2+2 Degree Completion Pathway: Students enter the program with an associate degree or transferable lower-division coursework and complete 60 upper-division credits to earn the Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

Outcomes:

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate effective communication that integrates analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
  2. Apply management principles that reflect organizational behavior, diversity, and cultural awareness.
  3. Apply human resource management concepts consistent with organizational policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  4. Integrate effective management and leadership principles to optimize organizational resources.
  5. Apply legal and ethical decision-making in management settings.
  6. Develop and implement effective customer relations strategies.
  7. Apply managerial accounting concepts to organizational decision-making.
  8. Integrate operational processes and information systems into management practices.
  9. Develop strategic plans that include organizational mission, measurable goals, objectives, and action plans.
  10. Apply teamwork, collaboration, and leadership practices in management environments.
  11. Manage projects from initiation through completion using critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Admission and Degree Requirements

Admission:

  • Submit a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) application.
  • Meet one of the following educational requirements:
    • Hold a conferred Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Have completed at least 60 transferable college-level credits from a regionally accredited institution, including a minimum of 15 credits of general education coursework.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on all college coursework.
  • Submit official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions. International transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

Completion:

  • Meet all lower-division prerequisite requirements for the selected concentration.
  • Complete all required upper-division coursework for the selected concentration.
  • Earn a grade of "C" or better in all program-specific and prerequisite courses.
