Program Overview

Mission:

The Advanced Technical Certificate in Project Management prepares students with industry-standard project management knowledge and skills applicable across industries and organizational settings.

Description:

The Advanced Technical Certificate in Project Management consists of 24 credits designed to develop proficiency in project planning, scheduling, risk management, quality management, agile methodologies, and business process analysis. Coursework prepares students for industry-recognized project management certifications and leadership roles in project-based environments.

Advanced Technical Certificate: This program expands technical knowledge and occupational skills through advanced coursework that prepares graduates for specialized employment and career advancement.

Outcomes:

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of project management terminology, processes, and industry frameworks.
  2. Perform the role of a project manager by leading and directing project teams.
  3. Use industry-recognized project management software to plan and manage projects.
  4. Apply agile principles and practices to project execution.
  5. Integrate stakeholder business requirements into project deliverables.
  6. Assess project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  7. Apply quality management principles throughout the project life cycle.
  8. Develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive project schedules.

Admission and Certificate Requirements

Admission:

  • Submit an Advanced Technical Certificate in Project Management application.
  • Meet one of the following educational requirements:
    • Hold a conferred Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.), or bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Have completed at least 60 transferable college-level credits from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
  • Successfully complete all prerequisite courses required for the certificate.
  • Receive approval from the Department Chair.
  • Earn a grade of "C" or better in all prerequisite and core coursework.

Completion:

  • Earn a grade of "C" or better in all program-specific and prerequisite courses.

This program is eligible for federal financial aid and the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
