Mission:

The Advanced Technical Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics prepares students with technical skills in data management, data analysis, and artificial intelligence systems. The program emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world problem solving.

Description:

The Advanced Technical Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics consists of 25 credit hours designed to develop proficiency in data structures, databases, data analytics, statistics, and artificial intelligence technologies. The program prepares graduates for technical roles supporting artificial intelligence and data analytics initiatives across business, industry, and government.

Advanced Technical Certificate: This postsecondary certificate is designed for individuals who already possess an associate degree or equivalent lower-division college coursework and wish to develop specialized workforce skills in artificial intelligence and data analytics.

Outcomes:

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  1. Create, organize, and analyze data using common data structures and formats.
  2. Use tools and methods to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  3. Select appropriate analytical techniques for solving business and organizational problems.
  4. Describe the operation of artificial intelligence systems and supporting technologies.
  5. Analyze business problems and implement data-driven solutions.
  6. Evaluate ethical considerations associated with artificial intelligence applications.
  7. Identify emerging trends and demonstrate continuous professional development in artificial intelligence and data analytics.

Admission Requirements

  • Submit an application for the Advanced Technical Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics.
  • Meet one of the following educational requirements:
    • Hold a conferred Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Have completed at least 60 transferable college-level credits from a regionally accredited institution, including a minimum of 15 credits of general education coursework.
  • Successfully complete ENC1101, MAC2311C, COP2800, and GEB3213 (or approved equivalents).
  • Complete all prerequisite and core coursework with a grade of "C" or higher.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applicants with a GPA between 2.0 and 2.49 may be considered for conditional admission with department chair approval.
  • Submit official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions. International transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
