Description: Massage Therapy is a 650-hour vocational certificate program preparing students for the state licensing examination and entry-level employment. Content includes anatomy and physiology, hydrotherapy, allied modalities, Florida statutes, ethics, pathology, professional development, medical errors, and HIV/AIDS education. Limited Access Program: Admission is competitive and requires completion of program-specific entrance requirements. Students should consult with an academic advisor before applying. Outcomes: Graduates of the program will be able to: Demonstrate principles and theories of therapeutic massage, safety, hygiene, and health practices. Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology. Apply allied modalities, including hydrotherapy. Demonstrate knowledge of business practices and ethical standards in the Florida Massage Practice Act. Communicate effectively as massage therapy professionals. Admission and Program Requirements Admission: Standard high school diploma or GED. Minimum age of 18. CASAS Reading and Math minimum scores or exemption. Meet with advisor for placement evaluation. FDLE/FBI background screening. Completion: Meet CASAS exit requirements or exemption. Submit continuing enrollment application. Complete program courses with grade "C" or better. Adhere to program handbook policies. Financial Aid This program is eligible for federal financial aid and the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
