Program Overview
Mission:
The program prepares students for entry-level employment and provides additional training for individuals working in manufacturing and high-technology industries. This certificate is part of the Engineering Technology A.S. degree program and supports entry into the manufacturing career cluster.
Description:
This certificate prepares students for engineering technology support positions involving electronics, cabling, soldering, device testing, and basic engineering applications within manufacturing environments.
Outcomes:
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of electronics and electricity.
- Demonstrate proficiency using tools, instruments, and testing devices.
- Apply soldering techniques and laboratory practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in surface-mount soldering.
- Create and analyze fiber optic terminations.
Completion Requirement:
- Earn a grade "C" or better in all program-specific and prerequisite courses.
