Program Overview
Mission:
The AutoCAD Foundations (Architectural) Certificate prepares students for entry-level drafting positions in architecture, building construction, land development, and related fields. The program uses current technology and innovative teaching methods and supports transfer into two-year or four-year degree programs.
Description:
This certificate provides a foundation in AutoCAD for architectural and construction applications. Instruction includes architectural drawing, 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and architectural CAD applications. Students may earn AutoCAD User Certification.

Outcomes:
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Generate architectural drawings that comply with American Institute of Architects (AIA) standards.
- Use drawing tools and CAD software to produce technical drawings.
- Design 2D and 3D models to solve spatial design problems.
- Create presentations using digital rendering techniques.
- Demonstrate proficiency in industry-related software applications.
- Evaluate digital sources to compare design solutions.
Completion Requirement:
- Earn a grade "C" or better in all program-specific and prerequisite courses.
