Program Overview
Mission:
The Computer Programming Certificate provides students with foundational knowledge of programming concepts, coding languages, testing, debugging, and maintaining computer programs. The program incorporates innovative teaching methods and current technologies to support student success.
Description:
This certificate prepares students for entry-level programming and software development positions. Students develop skills in programming languages, database management, web development, and software design.
Program courses transfer directly into the Associate of Science in Computer Programming and Analysis and related degree programs.
Outcomes:
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Plan and perform data file activities.
- Design and assess analysis activities.
- Perform program design, coding, and testing activities.
- Perform implementation, training, and support activities.
- Use multiple programming languages and development environments.
- Demonstrate professional development and workplace computing competencies.
Completion Requirement:
- Earn a grade "C" or better in all program-specific and prerequisite courses.
